Big Day Wednesday at State House



AUGUSTA, Maine — Maine lawmakers will mark Franco-American Day in the State House — with an Irish twist.

Sen. Lisa Marrache of Waterville says the 9th annual Franco-American Day will be observed Wednesday, which also happens to be St. Patrick's Day.

Franco-American Day will feature French music, dance and playing of the French, Canadian and American national anthems.

The day will also include French and Irish food in the Capitol complex cafe.

Recent inductees to the Franco Hall of Fame will also be announced that day.
